Today we’ve had a lazy day, most of it has been spent reading. This evening there is special dinner planned and then seeing the new year in together with movies, wine and champagne.

I’ve also spent some time taking some more practice pictures with the new camera in creative mode, so that I feel up to taking reasonable pictures out and about when I get the chance.

This one I like, the background is nicely out of focus and drawing your eye to the rose, this really aided by being able to pick out a single point for the auto-focus. I did play with putting the rose in the bottom left, however there was not enough roses in the background and it really spoiled the shoot.

Now it’s time to do some more reading and stop boring you all with waffle about pictures.
