DIY Camera customisation

In last weeks Amateur Photographer (14th March 2009) there was a article on DIY flash customisation. There was instructions on how to build a simple flash grid; however the really hard part was finding black straws. After a quick trip to Ikea, I had some straws which were only half black.

Best Advice for starting with an dSLR

Almost 2 years ago when I got my dSLR, the best advice I was given by a some friends was to get a 50mm Prime lens. These are just great lens, they let you give your attention to the photo. By thinking about where you take a picture from instead of playing with the zoom ring.

This picture is from a walk last Xmas with the Canon 50mm f/1.8 lens, it’s just great lens opticily. Plus it currently costs less than £70.

A recounting of this advice comes care of the new Tack Sharp podcast and website.
